Rigor Product Suggestions

  1. make timeout configurable per test

The timeout of 60s works for most tests, but I have use cases where I would want it increased or decreased. Rigor today fails a test at 60s even if the backend eventually returns.
It would be fantastic to be able to change this setting per test.

  2. RBC: make Wait times configurable in Steps

Currently when using Steps in RBC there is an option to "Wait for..." text or elements and I've been told that is hard-coded on the backend to be 5 seconds so my suggestion is to make that configurable so that we could enter a number up to 60 seconds to avoid false positives reporting the step failed when it is really just taking longer than 5 seconds.

  3. autocreate the API check steps description

when creating API steps auto filling the descriptions with items selected would help increase agility on-boarding new checks

  4. Overwrite the local DNS configuration for a specific test.

It would be helpful to have the ability to overwrite the local DNS resolver for a specific test. For example, we want to test a webpage as normal, but have DNS resolution done by a specific recursive DNS server. This is different than the DNS override in the host header, which allows replacement of a domain with an IP; in this case, we would like dynamic resolution to follow load balancing configurations.

  5. Domain Performance in rigor monitoring API

Domain Performance is a nice tool. But we need domain performance information through rigor API
    1. With the ability to get the information thought rigor monitoring API we can scale the usage of data in so many levels.

    2. Automate certain things like adding DNS prefetch links in our site to reduce DNS lookup time.

    3. Get 10 Slowest domains from Rigor API to create a custom dashboard to analyze, report and take action on them, and many more.

  7. Display specific JavaScript errors in RBC

If a JavaScript error happens during a RBC, allow us to see what the error was as well as the stack trace.

  8. Host header override matching with dns override

in case of any A/B test, and if we don't want to touch production configuration, then we are able to send the request to prototype or other configuration using DNS overriding feature. But when we want to tests different configuration depending on different host headers, we would want to apply different host headers towards the B-set, C-set prototypes. So if the dns overrides can be applied together with host header override, we can conduct various A/B/C tests with production host names

  9. Add support for AdBlock and AdBlock Plus

The user will be allowed to select via checkbox to turn on / off Adblock or Adblock-plus. As anti-ad block solutions are put into place, monitoring and testing them have been manual processes.

  11. Adding the ability to have a one time maintenance window so no alerts get triggered if we have a plannd outage

if I have a planned outage overnight I would like to setup a one time or a recurring maint window which it would be acceptable for a test to fail and NOT notify the members during that time window.

  12. Creating a way to test your failure/notification of tests without having to change your test.

I want to be able to know that the "notifications" system and setup for my test is working, we have the correct people being notified and the contact info is all correct. I would like to do this without having to change my test.

Is there a way to test the failure notification system quickly? For now I am:

    1. modifying who gets notified if I add a new person.
    2. Modifying the test to force it to fail like look for a button called test
    3. Waiting for the test to run twice which takes like 10 minutes or…

  13. reporting

It would be nice to get an aggregated downtime time report in minutes/seconds in addition to the percentage that is available now.

  16. Third party star graph showing introduced delay time not just the number of links

The third party star graph just shows the number of links in the page but not the amount of time each one adds to the page load time.

  17. Add Ability to Retrieve Set Custom Variables in Real Browser Check

    Hi,

We used a primary transaction key for all our Web Transactions. I can grab this variable (or set in a Rigor Custom variable) from java script extracting a Cookie value. I would like to be able to retrieve / display Rigor Custom variables on a Real Browser run. Suggestion, add tab on the DOM page details with "Rigor Custom variables values" and display the set values from the Real Browser run

  18. Add Optimization Defect Checks for WCAG needed by highly-regulated industries.

Digital content teams are responsible for optimizing their sites in many ways beyond speed. Since most of the WCAG falls on the front end and resources that Rigor already checks on, it would be valuable for teams in high-regulated industries to have access to the same level of "if this; then that" style fixes for their web content.

  19. Option to Delete multiple steps in RBC Test case

If I want to copy my RBC test case and create a new test case with customized steps, after creating the copy, I should have the option of selecting unwanted steps and deleting those steps. At present I need to delete one by one.

  20. I would like to have a rerun option for failed step in RBC check

While developing test case in RBC and when any test step fails during run due to logic fail or improper element passed, we should have an option to run from failed step. This option save our time and helps us to verify the fix quickly
