To be clear, right now all of Rigor’s Real Browser Checks run under a real browser, not an emulated one. We are using FireFox 45 ESR. When you select a different User-Agent, we change that UA string or view port, but its always a real browser.

Upgrading to this new version of FF meant we had to completely rewrite all our plugins that take measurements. Luckily these new plugins are more universal, so adding additional real browsers like Chrome is easier.

We are now looking at how to add additional browsers

Good idea; we’ll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime any additional information that you could share about your use case would be helpful, as in is there a certain number of steps that you are finding that you have to consistently remove?

Fantastic ideas. We are currently working on specing out what the next level of notifications and threshold alerting will be. Including some of these metrics is definitely on our radar as it makes this function more relevant to your specific business. We'll be reaching out to customers to find out more about their use cases when we begin working on this feature. In the meantime, thank you for your feedback!

Great suggestion, Austin! We'll look into this! I can definitely see how this can be useful when comparing or triaging errors.

Thanks for the suggestion. This is a great idea that we’ll take this into consideration when we look at upcoming improvements to Optimization and the defect rules.

Thanks, Venkatesh. We will take this into consideration when we next look at making changes within the RBC platform. Also, keep in mind that you are able to reorder the steps in whatever order you would like, so there is the capability to move steps up to the top that you would like to begin with and then move them back down when you have tested them to your satisfaction.

Great idea; we're definitely looking at revamping our notifications in the future and will consider this when doing so!

Totally agree. Merging with another idea which is a duplicate of this

AdminProduct Team (Admin, Rigor) commented  ·

Have talked with Ulta on the phone about this. Essentially they want to be able to update a RBC with a new Selenium script, without losing check history. This makes sense and could be done via the UI or API.

100% agree. If WebPageTest can do it, which should be capable of doing it as well!

To calculate SpeedIndex (another thing we are doing), we need to take lots of screenshots anyway. So stitching them together into a video makes total sense and would be a great eye candy feature

100% agree. Control groups should be a short cut way to mute multiple checks, not the only option for muting checks. Thanks for the suggestion Melanie. Moving to “under review”

Our solution to this will be to support the W3C custom user timings. So you can drop pins and take measurements of basically anything. We also need to do this to support Single Page Apps. We are currently in the planning phase.

Thanks for the idea submission John.

We are currently revamping the run level data like DNS resolution and making that available at the aggregate level. This data will also be available via our v2 API:

    http://rigor.com/blog/2016/06/announcing-the-new-rigor-api

    This should be available soon

Thanks for the suggestion Melanie, I think it could help yes! Chrome Dev tools allows you to do this in their waterfall, and I personal use it fairly regularly. The entire HAR viewer could probably use a visual/usability upgrade. Moving to “under review”

Thanks for sharing this idea Sarah. I can see how this is a need. There might be some issues with how to support this with the underlying Selenium script engine, but we should certainly investigate. Moving to “under review” and going to talk with Engineering

This could be a helpful feature. Would want to better understand what happens when there is a large number of locations, but the interval between checks is long: sounds like someone could miss an outage for potentially a hour or more.

Will reach out to Melanie to better understand the use case

100% agree Chris. Thank you for sharing this idea and use case.

We are revamping our notification system, including how templates can work, and are currently collecting use cases. This is something we should consider while doing this work.

100% agree. This is the kind of thing needed when support large organizations with a large amount of checks.

We should add the ability to bulk add/remove tags via our bulk update functionality. Moving to “under review”

Totally agree Doug. Thanks for sharing this idea. Our notifications system needs to be more flexible about allowing multiple different communications to occur in response to certain events, such as sending 2 different emails, to 2 different groups, using 2 different templates.

We are collecting use cases for a totally rebuild notifications system. I will include this in our planning.
